It would seem that Elisa's world is turning into Grand Central Station.  First Maddie, then Kakyoin.  Later, Harley.  And now, Faye.  The list of visitors was ever growing.

And once again, the Castle was abuzz with activity.  Dusk had come fairly early--seeing as it was early October in Elisa's universe--and the Gargoyles of the Manhattan Clan were again preparing to recieve company.  The last visitor had raised a few questions from Xanatos, namely how she had managed to get into the Castle without anyone knowing, but no answer would be forthcoming.  They were allowed some secrets, just as they did not peer too closely into his activities.

Food was cooking, some were watching TV, some were playing with Bronx, and generally regular life was going on.

"Weird," Brooklyn says. "Starting to sound like it's dangerous to go outside, or you'll end up there."

"Definitely weird," Broadway agrees. "Better be careful."

"I don't think they put portals in the refridgerator."

"Hey!"

"A-hem" Goliath's interruption cuts off any further fighting. "Please, forgive their rudeness. They are like this far too often."

"It's okay," she says to Goliath, a little amused. "I think they've maybe been cooped up in here too long."

"I suppose they have," Goliath agrees. "We have been forced to cut our patrols short and curb much of our other activities."

He still gives them a glare, however. "Never-the-less, it does not fully excuse such behavior."

All three look sheepish and mutter appologies.

Elisa just grins. "You see why I need a break now and then? I mean, who could handle this much household bliss?"

Faye still looks amused by the situation. "They'll need to visit the Nexus sometime."

"I can imagine," she says.

"We are making arrangements for that," Goliath replies. "And they will be on their best behavior."

"Still," Elisa says, happily, "I like 'em. Wouldn't trade them for anything. Unless the right offer came along."

"Hey!" Lex pipes up.

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding!" she hastily adds. "You have any family, Faye?"

She snerks. "Yeah," she says.

"Well, they've gotta be saner than this bunch," Elisa says. "You bring your web-shooters? We can show you around the city when we're done here."

"Yeah," Faye replies, "I'm even wearing my costume under my clothes too, so I can climb."

"Great," Elisa says.

"Oh wow!" Lex adds. "Elisa told me about those! I'd love a chance to see what makes it work..."

"If I knew how they work, I'd tell you... but I'm not exactly knowledgeable about tech stuff," she tells Lex.

And so it was that a short time later, Elisa, along with Brooklyn and Angela--the others busying themselves either with other tasks or taking a patrol route through the city--stand outside, overlooking the city.

"You gonna be okay swinging off from this high up? Or do you need to get a little lower first?" Elisa asks.

"I think I'll be fine," Faye replies with a thoughtful look on her face.

"All right then," Elisa says. "Us first, then you, just in case." As one, the three Gargoyles spread their wings and leapt from the Castle, catching the air easily and making a long, lazy loop while they waited for Faye.

Faye leaps from the Castle soon afterwards, firing off a webline to control her quick decent.

"Okay, that is just awesome," Brooklyn says, as the Gargoyles adjust their flight path.

"Definitely cool, Faye," Elisa says.

"Too right it is," Faye calls out, "My reflexes aren't as fast as Ben's, but I can manage."

"I'd say you're managing pretty well," Elisa says, with a smile.

"It never ceases to amaze me," Angela says. "The wonders people are capable of creating."

"Little bit more North, Faye," Elisa calls out, adjusting her wings slightly to change her direction. "Got something pretty cool to show you."

"Heh, thanks," she says to Elisa.

"Made on a low budget too," she answers with a smile.

"Okay." She changes her course, following Elisa.

It was called Tthe Cloisters. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cloisters) For Elisa, it had once simply been another part of the city. One more landmark in a city that had so many.

For the guys... it was like a little piece of the world they came from.

Elisa and the others land on one of the roofs, looking over the rest of it. "What do you think?" she asks Faye. "This is one of our favorite spots in the city."

Faye lands on the wall below them, and climbs, spider-like, up to their level.

"Reminds me of the Castle," she says.

"It's a lot like what home used to be," Brooklyn agrees. "Used to come here a lot, after we had to move out of the castle."

"And Goliath used to bring me here a lot, when we were 'dating,' Elisa says. "Just goes to show that if you look for it, you can find anything you want in this city."

She heads to the tower and climbs up it to get a better view. "I see what you guys mean," she replies.

((Gah, I am sorry. This just got totally lost in my in-box and then I got busier than I expected... Bad mun. Bad.))

A little later and back to gliding over the city, a scream splits the night air. Looking down below, they can see that a group of thugs has pulled a woman into the alley...

"Not good," Brooklyn says.

"You guys know what to do," Elisa says, simply. "Can't ask you to throw youself into danger here, Faye, but..." She's already starting to swoop down as she speaks.

"I can handle myself," she says as she swings down and follows them.

It's with a growl and glowing eyes that Elisa swoops down on one of the men, grasping him firmly around the shoulders to toss him into the dumperster at the back of the alley. Angela and Brooklyn each take one out as well, while the fourth attempts to make a break for the entrace of the alley...
