It would seem that Elisa's world is turning into Grand Central Station.  First Maddie, then Kakyoin.  Later, Harley.  And now, Faye.  The list of visitors was ever growing.

And once again, the Castle was abuzz with activity.  Dusk had come fairly early--seeing as it was early October in Elisa's universe--and the Gargoyles of the Manhattan Clan were again preparing to recieve company.  The last visitor had raised a few questions from Xanatos, namely how she had managed to get into the Castle without anyone knowing, but no answer would be forthcoming.  They were allowed some secrets, just as they did not peer too closely into his activities.

Food was cooking, some were watching TV, some were playing with Bronx, and generally regular life was going on.

Faye lands on the wall below them, and climbs, spider-like, up to their level.

"Reminds me of the Castle," she says.

"It's a lot like what home used to be," Brooklyn agrees. "Used to come here a lot, after we had to move out of the castle."

"And Goliath used to bring me here a lot, when we were 'dating,' Elisa says. "Just goes to show that if you look for it, you can find anything you want in this city."

She heads to the tower and climbs up it to get a better view. "I see what you guys mean," she replies.

((Gah, I am sorry. This just got totally lost in my in-box and then I got busier than I expected... Bad mun. Bad.))

A little later and back to gliding over the city, a scream splits the night air. Looking down below, they can see that a group of thugs has pulled a woman into the alley...

"Not good," Brooklyn says.

"You guys know what to do," Elisa says, simply. "Can't ask you to throw youself into danger here, Faye, but..." She's already starting to swoop down as she speaks.

"I can handle myself," she says as she swings down and follows them.

It's with a growl and glowing eyes that Elisa swoops down on one of the men, grasping him firmly around the shoulders to toss him into the dumperster at the back of the alley. Angela and Brooklyn each take one out as well, while the fourth attempts to make a break for the entrace of the alley...

The fourth man doesn't get far, as Faye quickly webs him up, sending him toppling over.

Elisa shoots Faye a thumbs-up before turning her attention to the woman. "Are you all right?" she asks.

"Don't... don't hurt me! Please..."

Elisa sighs. "We're not..." The woman's frightened expression silences her protest. "Fine. Just call 911, please, so somebody can come and take these guys away."

She turns to Faye and the others. "C'mon... let's get out of here."

Faye frowns behind her mask. "Well, that's gratitude for you."

Sigh. "I'm right behind you," she says.

Back in the air, Elisa gives Faye an appologetic look. "I'm sorry you had to see that."

"It's alright," she replies mid web-swing, "not your fault."

"Still..." Elisa trails off. "It's a side of this world I'm not exactly proud of."

"That still went better than it sometimes does," Brooklyn says. "At least she didn't beg us not to eat her."

"Well... I'd have found it hard to keep my cool if that happened," she mutters.

"I'd almost have liked to have seen that," Elisa says. "I don't think I've ever seen you get angry."

"Still," Angela says, "I am always amazed at such a reaction. We rescue them, only to be treated as far worse than what we're resucing them from. It makes little sense."

"Nobody deserves to be treated like that," Faye says to them.

There's a nod and a mummur of agreement from the Gargoyles. By now, the Castle was visible in the skyline again, though a good bit above their flight line.

"Home sweet home," Elisa says.

"Bet I can get there first," Faye replies.

From Brooklyn and Angela, this produces its share of snickers. Even Elisa cracks a smile.

"I think," she says, "that we accept the challenge."

"Let's go then," she calls, using her weblines to increase her speed and height. As soon as she reaches the Eyrie Building, she'll use them to propel herself upwards.

Elisa tucks her wings in to increase her speed, while still angling the for height. The Garoyles are at a bit of a disadvantage to Faye; they'll eventually need to climb when they run out of upward wind and momentum...

But for now, they've got the edge in speed.

Faye gets overtaken by them, but she doesn't fall behind too far.

Which is good, because if she had, Elisa probably would have fallen back a little just to keep an eye on her.

As it is, the Gargoyles were getting closer to the building, and the apex of their flight.

And that's when Faye'll catch up.

The three connect solidly with the building--talons sinking into the side--and begin to climb. Brooklyn was currently in the lead, Elisa second, and Angela last.

Faye uses a webline to change her momentum and travel up the building.
