I like to throw one of these up every now and then. Anybody got any questions about me or the rest of the Clan? Can't guarantee I'll answer--we are entitled to a little privacy, after all--but I'll do my best.
Well, for me, personally, it's getting to be with Goliath. I'd like to think we'd have gotten together anyway, but if I'm a Gargoyle too... Well, I get to really share the nights with him, share all things.
But... I miss the sun. We've got ways around it, so that we can see it every now and then, but I've spent much more of the last couple years without it than with it.
And with a bit of polling of the others...
Goliath: The strength to protect those in need; the fearful reaction our appearance often causes in others.
Hudson: Livin' long enough to well and truly learn a little somethin' about this world. Bein' vulnerable durin' the day...
Brooklyn: Sure as heck wouldn't have met Kat any other way. People who think we're going to eat them.
Kat: The sense of community a Clan brings. The fear that we will still not have acceptance by the time my children are grown.
Lex: Gliding! Typing with claws.
Broadway: Being able to really make a difference in the city. But not getting any recognition for it.
Angela: Having a big family. Not always understanding how humans do things.
Guinevere: It's certainly better than being human... I've sorry. I shouldn't have...
Elisa: I am very happy that you have found your soul mate and get to be with him. It is relationships like yours that give me hope that one day I will find one that will work for me. Hey, random follow-up here: But are you guys stone during an eclipse?
Goliath: Professor Xavier always said that true respect is measured by those who are impressed by your strength, not scared by your appearance.
Hudson: You ain't really vulnerable if you got friends to watch over you.
Brooklyn/Kat: You both have a beautiful mate, and your children are so interesting. I am glad you got a family to love. I am sure your children will grow up to know true friends, no matter what.
Lex: You should invest in a mic-set, so you can vocally type.
Broadway: There are people who recognize you, you just have to see them.
Angela: It is hard to understand that other race, until you walk a mile in their shoes.
Guinevere: Eh, not bothered by it. Technically, I ain't a human.
Elisa: I still have hope. Somedays it fades on me, but I get through it with friends.
Goliath: He did teach a generation of mutants.
Hudson: And now you got me. And trust me, don't want to piss off the pyrotelekenetic.
Brooklyn/ Kat: What is the future like? For one so low?
Lex: I am full of them.
Angela: Hey if we could arrange it, I would be willing to do the switch. For a day.
Guinevere: You know how those people who hate gargoyles are tought to take? Well by hating humans, you are sort of turning into one of them. In a way. So be better than that. Keep an open mind. I am sure there are some humans that you know that are nice.
Didn't get a chance to ask this last time since we were mostly distracted by having an unconscious Gargoyle on our hands, but how does the turning to stone thing work?
It's how we sleep, Ed. Our body-clocks are geared to the planet's rhythms, and know when sunrise is. So we turn into an organic, stone-like substance. There, any injuries heal, and we absorb thermal energy.
Once the sun sets, we turn to flesh from the inside out, and break out of the last layer.
Ah. Sounds interesting. Although now I'm wondering how often some poor unfortunate person gets clipped by flying bits of rock during your 'waking up' periods...
"Ohhhh." Her eyes went wide as she considered making a move, then went wider as she suddenly blushed furiously at the thought and looked around for somewhere to hide.
Heh. It's cause Gargoyles are a classification all their own. Not mammals, reptiles, or anything else. And besides, some mammals nurse their young, but still lay eggs. Like platypuses.

Hudson: Right ye are lass. More 'an a few o' those these days.
Brooklyn: I've seen bits of the future... what little I remember of it... yeah. Things will get better.
Kat: You have much wisdom, for one so low.
Lex: Hey! That's a good idea!
Broadway: Yeah, I know...
Angela: It might be interesting, to be human for a day...
Guinevere: Still... I am working hard to break old habits.

Hudson: Aye, lass. And we're grateful for it.
Brooklyn: Well, when I was there, there were space invanders...
--Kat: Forgive me. My English is not always the best. I meant to say "young."
Lex: Sometimes Elisa says I'm full of something...
Angela: I would like that very much.
Guinevere: Hmm. Yes...

Brookyln/Kat: Space invaders are never fun. Ah, I gotcha. No it was okay, it sort of sounded like that. Your Asian, for no better term, aren't you?
Lex: aren't we all in our youth. And proud of it!
Angela: any time we can set it up.

Re: text
Date: 2007-09-26 08:11 pm (UTC)But yeah. It's whatcha call parallel evolution. Gargoyles and humans just developed along similar designs in a lot of ways.
