As was usual after dusk, the Castle was busy with the Gargoyles beginning their evening activities. Tonight, however, was a bit different. Tonight, they had company coming. It was not the first time they'd had guests since moving back to the Castle--that particular honor had gone to Matt Bluestone--but the more human friends they acquired, the better. That this particular guest came from another universe was unknown to nearly everyone--though Elisa had explained the basic concept of the Nexus, no one had quite believed it or even dwelt on it for long. They'd find out soon enough, anyway.
The Great Hall of the castle had already been set up and the smell of food cooking was in the air. Broadway and Angela were in the kitchen, cooking. Lex and Brooklyn were playing with Bronx, and Hudson was watching television in the TV room until everything was ready.
And Elisa? Elisa and Goliath were watching the skyline, content in each other's company as they waited.
